It will tighten it up and thats probably what he meant. Many people are fit, but still have many loose and “pudgy” areas like there stomach. But if you wanted to tighten up for example your stomach, you would do crunches. Not all pudge is fat, some just come from weak muscles

You cant just loose weight in on specific area of your body. If weight loss is the goal, it will happen gradually over your whole body. That’s like saying a bunch of crunches will make you loose the fat covering your abs. No the won’t. Clean nutrition and fitness will do that.
