These bars are terrific for an on-the-go snack! Finally there is a bar that doesn’t have nuts and/or soy! We cannot have gluten, casein, soy or nuts and prior to the NuGo Free bars, we were out of options when it came to snack bars. This is reasonably healthy as well – less sugar than you’d guess by tasting the bar, and fair amount of protein. When you have numerous food restrictions and must take your food with you everywhere, it feels amazing to be able to pack a bar and go! Especially with kids, I know that if I have some of these in the car, I don’t have to be so worried about running a bit late (and I can reduce the amount of banana peels left in the car – the other quick snack!). They are tasty enough that my daughter considers these bars to be a treat – they are chocolate afterall! Bravo to Amazon for adding NuGo Free to their inventory.

one thing you find when you are diagnosed with gluten-intolence is that you rapidly want to find a substitute for various food that you can nolonger eat. This is the first gluten-free ‘granola-equivalent’ bar that I have tried: it is moist, not sweet (due to the dark cholocate component), a little chewy and not at all heavy (typical lightness that I have found with many of the other gluten free food like pasta and bread). And then it is all over before you know it: may be this is a good feeling as I used to get this horrible heavy feeling after eating an oat-based granola bar. I love it so far and plan to give my father who is also on gluten free diet to try it too.
I buy my supply from freshdirect (new york) – so there is no delay in delivery and the price is the same.

I have not had much luck finding good gluten-free/dairy-free chocolate bars, so I wasn’t really expecting much when I ordered these. But I was very pleasantly surprised when they arrived and I tried one ! They actually taste very good, in my opinion, and also have a good texture.
While I do eat them at home as a snack, they’re really more useful to me when I’m away from home – whether a day-trip or overnight. They’re not particularly messy to eat either, unlike some other bars I have tried, which is nice when you are grabbing a quick snack in your car or on a train, etc.
At about $2 a pop they’re not cheap, and I wish the bars themselves were a little bit bigger, but overall since they are so much better than most other chocolate bars I have tried, I would say they deserve a 5-star rating.
