This shoe is perfect for people with high arches like me. It allows your foot to naturally pronate and has great cushioning. I got a stress fracture with my prior shoes. I would not recommend this shoe for people who are relatively flat-footed.

I currently own four or five pairs of Asics, primarily Nimbus 8s and 9s, and I thought it couldn’t get any better. Fortunately it does get better with the Stratus 2.1. The primary improvement or difference for me is the separated forefoot cushioning system. This gives me the feeling of literally running on my toes, which is the way I run. As the other reviewer mentioned, the higher arches add to the feeling of running on the toes.
Overall, this shoe is simply superb for me and the way I run/walk. It actually makes me want to run when I’m walking. It feels that good.
I’d recommend them, especially if you can try them on first. But even if you can’t, I doubt you’d be disappointed unless you have flat feet, in which case I’m sure there’s some other Asics shoe for you.
After this pair, I don’t even look at Nikes or Adidas. There’s no comparison. I think the Nike people spend more time coming up with gimmicks rather than studying how to make running better.
And did I mention Stratus look great as well.
Five star.

I just ordered my fourth pair of Asics Get Stratus 2.1s. I’m an amateur runner and completed my first marathon last year with the help of these shoes. They are lightweight with great cushioning. Racking up the miles in these shoes didn’t lead to any injuries like I experienced with Nike running shoes.
The only negative is that you should replace them after about 350 miles. Running much more than that on one pair and I tend to get hurt.
Tremendous shoe and great overall value.
