I bought these after trying poly-vi-sol in attempts to get Vit. D for my breastfed baby. My baby hated poly-vi-sol and it was impossible to get her to take it. I bought these drops, and they were super easy…my baby never even noticed she was taking them. I really like them but my doctor was not convinced, as they are not FDA approved. Instead, I am now using Tri-vi-sol which only has 3 vitamins in it and tastes like cherry. My baby will take the Tri-vi-sol straight from the dropper. I would recommend that to nursing mothers until these drops get FDA approval.

I waited 6 months to write this review, because I wanted to make sure these drops worked. Let me tell you, they do. My baby loves the taste, unlike the Enfamil vitamins drops that your doctor probably said to get. We did that last year, when she was born and she would refuse the Enfamil Vi-Sol drops. The drops from Enfamil not only taste bad, they stain too. These drops are clear and taste like grape.
Here’s a story about how well they work. My preschool daughter came home with a cold every other week last year and my breastfed infant would always catch the same cold. Both my daughters had about 8-10 colds last year. Then when spring came along and the threat of H1N1 (swine flu) came about, I really did my research as a concerned mom and found out that Vita D was a mom’s best bet to keep their children well during cold and flu season. I totally refused to be a mom that gave the Swine Flu shot or mist. However, my older daughter, since she was in a busy full school, did get the seasonal flu mist (but not the swine flu mist). There wasn’t enough that we knew yet about this strain and I decided to go the old fashion way and keep my family healthy with vitamins. All of us are taking extra Vita D. The FDA actually approves too low of a dose for adults and children. My older daughter gets a multi vitamin plus vita D gummies on top of that. She has not come home with one cold this year, not one. She has been perfectly healthy, even when her school came down with the swine flu. Vita D really works. Same goes for my baby, who is now 16 months, she is still breast-feeding (a safe way to protect her from getting any flu is to continue nursing through flu season, its most likely a baby will not get the flu). She takes her vita d drops every day and she as well has not been sick since last winter. By this time last year, when my daughters weren’t taking any vita d, they both had about 5 colds already. That’s my story and Vita D really works. Make sure your kids get it. Also, if you are a nursing mom, you can just put the drops directly on your nipple. We live in the cold, raining climate of the Pacific N.W.,so there are tons of colds and flus going around each day. We don’t get any sun (with natural Vita D)for months, which is why Vita D drops are essensial.

I would say these are great, especially in the winter months when you can’t get baby outside everyday for the 5-15 minutes they need for optimal Vitamin D.
