These didn’t sound appealing to me at all, since the companies never seem to get fruit flavors quite right when they have to keep the net carb count low, but I was happily surprised. I thought maybe this would be kind of dry like the chocolate granola bars (which I’ll eat if I’m desperate, but they are so not my favorite), and this is not the case at all. The dryer bits are sandwiched between a bottom layer of white frosting, and a nice apple overlay that has the consistency of caramel, giving it an overall taste that reminds me strongly of apple cinnamon Pop Tarts. I will definitely be buying these again!

The “Atkins Apple Crisp Day Break Bars” are a great tasting, low carb breakfast.
Being diabetic, I have to watch my carbs and the Atkins bars are a great way for me to have a good breakfast without sending my blood sugar levels too high.
Highly Recommended!

These are obviously not Mom’s apple bars, but for a high protein, low carb bar–amazing! They are a “breakfast” flavor, unlike the other chocolate types, and are suitable for the initial phase–the other Day Break bars I’ve seen are not. They don’t have that “cardboard” or “sawdust” flavor and texture other protein/low carb bars have had in the past. I usually eat a proper cooked breakfast, but when I can’t, these are great to have on hand!
By the way, it’s worth buying the New Atkins book if you’re seriously trying to lose weight. They’ve updated the plan based on new scientific findings and experience. They tell you what to do if you stop losing, and so on.

I find the bars a bit expensive but there is lack of competition. They serve their purpose of a low carb sweet in the morning. I enjoy them, but I prefer the chocolate ‘daytime’ bars. The original Atkin’s apple crisp bars were much better in my opinion.
