Asics shoes were shipped quickly. Great response time. However, I haven’t had a chance to wear them to determine the quality of the product.

I purchased this product for three reasons: 1) My current New Balance 602 (Made in USA) walking shoes were wearing out after at least 1,000 miles of use. 2) Consumer’s Report recommended them 3) Reading the positive reviews here.
I can only compare them to my well used New Balance 602′s. On day one and two it was pleasantly obvious they were gel-filled. The cushioning was great and made for a comfortable walk (4 miles/day).
Now after walking in them for 64 miles I find them feeling little different than my old New Balance 602′s. The tops have remained as firm as they were new. The sole is not pronouncedly curved upward at the toe and heel like the NB walking shoes so the natural rolling from heel to toe isn’t as natural feeling in the Asic as was in the 602′s.
I expect the gel is still working but I really no longer feel the sensation of gel like I did in the first five to fifteen miles I walked in them. I’d compare that sensational loss to chewing gum. After awhile it finally loses its flavor but you chew it anyway.
I rated them “OK.” That means they are acceptable. Unfortunately I can’t tell how long the soles will last which is important. Their price is attractive but overall, the next time I buy walking shoes I’ll buy American (New Balance are made in Maine) and find another New Balance walking shoe that will fit my use (I am 63 years old).
PS. Women, my girlfriend has put nearly 200 miles on her Shape-Ups (bought from Amazon.com). She loves them. According to her, they still give her the workout they are designed to give. Check them out.

I purchased this one based on customer report. It was rated as No. 1. And it is pretty good shoes compared to my Reebok shoes. Sport Authority does not carry it. I would suggest Amazon if you cannot find any retail local stores.

Fits and feels great, I walk three miles a day on a treadmill and this model is one of Asics best so far. I’ve been using them for many years, can’t beat the price.I’ll probably buy another pair before the model is discontinued.
